FAQ

What should I expect from therapy?

Therapy gives you a safe, supportive space that’s just for you.  We’ll talk about the unique challenges of caregiving – stress, guilt, grief, and feeling overwhelmed – and explore practical tools to help you cope. You’ll have space to share openly, learn strategies to protect your well-being, and reconnect with yourself beyond the caregiving role.

How long is each session?

Sessions run 45-55 minutes.  Weekly sessions are recommended .

Do you provide in person and virtual sessions?

At this time, I am providing virtual sessions only, conducted via Zoom.  I am licensed in both Connecticut and New York, and can see patients from both states.

Do you accept Insurance?

I do not accept insurance at this time.  However, I can provide you with the necessary documentation to submit for reimbursement if you choose.

What is your cancellation policy?

24 hours notice is required for cancelled or rescheduled appointments.  Missed appointments are charged in full.  Of course, emergencies and illness are considered.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept online payment (Zelle & Venmo) and checks.  Payment for session is due at the time of service.

What about confidentiality?

The relationship between therapist and client is protected by law and information cannot be disclosed without written consent.  The only exceptions are if and when there is suspected child abuse/neglect or when the client threatens serious harm to self or others, in which case every effort is made to ensure the safety of those affected as required by law.
